Even though she was one of the betting odds favorites to win the 2018 Royal Rumble match, Ronda Rousey not only denied that she was was going to be at the Rumble PPV but also posted a video of herself in Colombia to try and throw people off.
Here is what Dave Meltzer wrote:
“She was in Colombia, she flew on a chartered jet back and she tried to be hidden because it was a chartered jet and the only place anybody would have seen her, [The only place to] apparently tip people off would have been customs and she didn’t fly with any people she usually flies with and she sent Travis Brown (Rousey's husband) back to California because they figured if anybody saw Travis Brown they would figure it out. So they really wanted to hide it but the reality is once everybody knew the Women’s Royal Rumble was going on last everyone pretty much figured it out.”
In addition to the women's Rumble going on last, Rousey's personal photographer Michael Mardones was spotted at the arena which was another giveaway that she was going to be on the show.
WWE announced that Rousey has signed a full-time deal but there's no word yet on if that means she will be working live events and TV events or if she will have a schedule similar to the deal that WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has. Rousey is said to be well-liked and respected by the WWE locker room and has trained with talents such as Becky Lynch, Natalya and SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair.
