Original Choices For Ronda Rousey’s Tag-Team Partner At WrestleMania 34

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer spoke about Ronda Rousey‘s upcoming in-ring debut at WrestleMania. Meltzer revealed two interesting names who were considered to as a potential partner for Rousey, before deciding on Kurt Angle.

Meltzer said that the first choice was The Rock, to bring their story from WrestleMania 31 full circle. However, with Rock’s obligations in Hollywood, it is understandable that movie studios don’t want to take a chance on Rocky getting injured.

The second name was supposedly Batista. Meltzer says Batista was approached but refused the offer. He didn’t reveal a possible reason behind Batista’s refusal.
