All three women were former SmackDown Women’s Champions with a legitimate claim to the title opportunity. Carmella defeated Charlotte and Asuka twice as champion, Charlotte has defeated Asuka as champion as well and never lost to her in a singles match, and Becky never was cleanly defeated for her title and Asuka haven’t beaten her either. The three would settle their differences in a triple threat rematch from SummerSlam, where since they have all grown and developed new personalities and attributes since. Carmella and Charlotte would put up a valiant effort, but it would all lead to Lynch trapping Carmella in the Dis-Arm Her for the submission victory.
